Transcription page 5:

"In the name of Amen.

I, William Wheeler, sen of the State of Illinois and of the County of Hamilton, weak in body but of sound and perfect mind & memory, Blessed be to Almighty God for the same, I do make and publish this my last will and testament, in manner and form following (that is to say):

1st I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Peggy Wheeler, after all lawful debts are paid with the exception of eight dollars, in specie and one feather bed, the land and reminder of household property with the stock, I give to her, to raise her children, (viz) the four that are with her, to remain in her hands so long as she remains in a state of widowhood, or till death, at the termination of which period, the land and profits and all my real estate to be divided in the manner following:

That is to say) Equally to be divided between them four and my daughter Lucy, I do also give and bequeath to my daughter Lucy eighty dollars to be raised out of my property, and one feather bead and bedding, the remainder to be disposed of aforesaid which several legacies or sums of property and money I will and order shall be paid to the said respective Legatee after my decease to which I appoint my son Henry Wheeler as sole executor of this my last will and testament, hereby revoking all former wills by me made.

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this September 8th 1830.

Signed Sealed, published and declared by the above named William Wheeler, to be his Last Will and Testament, in presence of us, who have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses in the presence of the testator.

"State of Illinois SS.

At a Court of Probate for said County held in McLeansboro, on the 19th day of September 1832. This day personally appeared before me Jesse C. Lockwood Judge of Probate in and for said County, in open Court the within named Isaac Hale, Lewis Land & William Rylie, three creditable witnesses who being by me duly sworn on their oaths depose and say, that they were present and see the within named William Wheeler sign the within Will, and Testament in their presence that they believed and still believe that the said William Wheeler was of sound mind, and memory at that time of signing the same, and that they attested the signing of said Will in the presence and by the request of the said William Wheeler, and in presence of each other.

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my private seal no public seal being mo?ided at McLeansboro, this 19th day of September 1832.
